There are many rubber products in our lives, and sealing strips are a very common type. They are widely used in various industries such as automobiles, doors and windows, cabinets, refrigerators, containers, etc. Rubber sealing strips can solve problems such as air leakage, water leakage, air leakage, and oil leakage. And other issues.
So what are the differences between different rubber materials? What are the different characteristics of rubber sealing strips? Let's introduce them one by one below.
Nitrile rubber sealing strip: suitable for temperatures ranging from -30 to 120 ℃; The characteristic is oil and solvent resistance, but not resistant to ketones, esters, and chlorinated hydrocarbons, and has good elasticity and mechanical properties.
The disadvantage is that it is prone to aging and cracking in ozone and oxidation, and has poor cold resistance and low temperature resistance.
Nitrile rubber can also be used to manufacture O-rings, oil seals, cups, diaphragms, valves, bellows hoses, rubber rollers, sealing gaskets, fuel tank liners, aircraft fuel tank liners, large oil bags, and transportation systems in contact with oil. Oil resistant rubber products such as belts and brackets are not suitable for machinery using phosphate hydraulic oil. It is also used to manufacture rubber sheets and wear-resistant parts.
Fluororubber sealing strip: suitable for temperatures ranging from -65 to 250 ℃; Its characteristics are heat resistance, oil resistance, aging resistance, and corrosion resistance. Its stability is superior to other strongly corrosive media such as concentrated sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, hydrogen peroxide, concentrated alkali, etc.
The disadvantage is poor low-temperature performance and poor radiation resistance.
Fluororubber can also be used to manufacture cylinder liner seals, rubber bowls, rotating lip seals, U-rings, and sealing strips.
Chloroprene rubber sealing strip: suitable for temperatures ranging from -55 to 120 ℃; Has excellent weather resistance, ozone resistance, heat aging resistance, oil resistance, and solvent resistance. It also has good corrosion resistance to inorganic acids, suitable for dilute acids, silicone based lubricants, dichlorodifluoromethane, ammonia, and other refrigerants, but not resistant to aromatic oils.
The disadvantage is poor storage stability, hardening during storage, and poor cold resistance.
Chloroprene rubber is commonly used in the manufacturing of sealing components for aircraft, automobiles, trains, buses, ships, high and low voltage switchgear, glass curtain walls, aluminum alloy insulated windows, and diving products, as well as waterproof parts such as high-pressure steam hoses, tunnels, elevated bridge joints, and other industrial and agricultural sealing parts.
Natural rubber sealing strip: suitable for temperatures ranging from -50 to 120 ℃; It has the characteristics of high strength, high elasticity, good low-temperature performance, and small permanent deformation.
The disadvantages are poor high-temperature performance, poor oil resistance, and easy aging in air.
Natural rubber can be used to produce brake cups and rubber rings for automotive brake systems, rubber bowls or seals used as seals in brake systems, gaskets, high vacuum seals, etc.
Styrene butadiene rubber sealing strip: suitable for temperatures ranging from -30 to 120 ℃; The characteristics are resistance to animal and vegetable oils, large expansion to general mineral oils, strong aging resistance, and better wear resistance than natural rubber sealing strips.
The disadvantage is that its ozone resistance is inferior to other rubber materials, with poor low-temperature performance and low elasticity.
Styrene butadiene rubber can be used to manufacture tires, tapes, hoses, conveyor belts, wires and cables, medical equipment, and various rubber products
Silicone rubber sealing strip: suitable for temperatures ranging from -100 to 300 ℃; It has outstanding high and low temperature resistance, ozone resistance, weather aging resistance, excellent hydrophobicity and breathability.
The disadvantages are poor cold resistance, low tear strength, and poor oil resistance.
Silicone rubber is suitable for making sealing gaskets required in thermal mechanisms, such as strong light source lampshade sealing gaskets, valve gaskets, hoses, insulation seals, electronic buttons, various medical accessories, etc. Due to its lack of oil resistance, silicone rubber is not suitable for manufacturing oil resistant sealing products.
EPDM rubber sealing strip: suitable for temperatures ranging from -50 to 150 ℃; Its characteristics are ozone resistance, heat and cold resistance, aging resistance, good wear resistance, excellent resilience, excellent resistance to permanent deformation, and chemical resistance (such as alcohol, acid, strong alkali, oxidant), but it is not resistant to general mineral oil-based lubricants and hydraulic oils.
The disadvantages are single color, low processing efficiency, strong odor, and inability to recycle waste.
EPDM rubber can be used to manufacture sealing products such as steam resistant diaphragms, automotive parts, heat-resistant hoses, building materials, and wire and cable sheaths. Sealing strips have been widely used in washing machines, TV accessories, and door and window sealing products.
Polyurethane rubber sealing strip, suitable for temperature range of -60~80 ℃. Its characteristics are good elasticity and excellent wear resistance, good oil resistance, superior mechanical properties, excellent cold resistance and chemical resistance, which can meet the requirements of various colors.
The disadvantage is that it has average temperature resistance, is not resistant to strong polar solvents and strong acid-base media, and has poor water resistance. Long term exposure to water will cause hydrolysis.
Polyurethane rubber is suitable for manufacturing high-frequency brake buffering components, various anti vibration rubber parts, rubber springs, couplings, and textile machinery parts; In oil resistant products, it can be used to manufacture printing rollers, seals, fuel containers, oil seals, etc;
