Silicone sealing strips are commonly used products in the sealing strip industry. They are utilized for liquid/gas sealing in various large-scale chemicals and daily necessities. They can completely isolate the carrier from the outside environment and effectively preserve items. There are two production processes for silicone rubber sealing strips. Different product sizes require different processing techniques.

For sealing strips used in building doors and windows, large machinery, etc., size and design shape are crucial, so extrusion technology is mostly employed. However, some small electronic products and sealing strips are usually made through molding technology.

Extrusion processing is a relatively stable production process. Due to the action of the screw, the rubber material is tightly squeezed during the process, resulting in stable fluidity of the rubber material, mutual adhesion of product structures, increased density, and improved product quality. It will be better.

Production process flow of silicone strip extrusion:

1. Rubber mixing: Rubber raw materials are mixed in a rubber mixer. Various auxiliary materials such as vulcanizing agents and color masterbatches are added to the rubber according to the formula requirements. They are evenly mixed through continuous mixing, and then pressed into rubber.

2. Extrusion: Install a die at the head of the extruder, place the refined rubber material into the automatic feeder, allowing the rubber material to naturally enter the extruder barrel from the feeding device. Then, through the rotation of the screw, the rubber material is moved towards the die head and extruded into the shape of a sealing strip.

3. Vulcanization: The extruded sealing strip enters the drying tunnel for high-temperature vulcanization and characterization. Some products will be placed in an oven for secondary heating and molding.

4. Subsequent processing: Cutting or bonding and other subsequent processing are carried out according to the length required by the customer. Then, it is packaged and shipped to the customer as needed.

During the production process, the staff will conduct repeated measurements at the extrusion port and drying tunnel to ensure that the dimensions of the produced silicone sealing strips are correct.

Advantages of silicone sealing strips:

1. Silicone itself has strong inertia and excellent anti-aging and corrosion resistance properties.

2. The surface can be divided into smooth and granular types, with a temperature range of -70 to 300 degrees. The color can be customized and is rich in options.

3. It has excellent sealing performance, shock resistance, waterproofing, dustproofing, and good weather resistance.

4. Silicone rubber sealing strips are environmentally friendly, safe, non-toxic, and odorless, with excellent insulating properties.

5. Silicone sealing strips exhibit minimal compression deformation, strong resilience, good non-stick surface properties, and excellent breathability.

Application of silicone sealing strip:

Silicone sealing strips are now widely used in various fields such as electronics, electrical engineering, lighting, and chemical engineering. They possess numerous application characteristics and can be utilized in numerous domains.

1. Door and window industry: plastic steel doors and windows, aluminum alloy doors and windows, bridge-cutoff insulation doors and windows, system doors and windows, architectural doors and windows, etc. Sealing strips are required for daily life doors and windows (for sealing, pressure bearing, and shock absorption).

2. Transportation: doors and windows of high-speed trains and automobiles (various gaps between engine covers, trunk lids, tool parts, decorative strips, door panels, and door frames, which serve the functions of shock absorption, waterproofing, and dustproofing)

3. Instrumentation industry applications: various silicone rubber leads (used for capacitors, light emitters, coils, transformers, and current transformers as leads). Diaphragms for sensitive components in various regulators, heating elements for instruments, needle-resistant rubber sheets (high tear-resistant silicone rubber). Seals/inserts for doors of drying ovens, electric furnaces, and far-infrared heaters, boiler seals, and seals for refrigeration units (sponge door seals)

4. High-voltage caps for the radio, motor, and telecommunications industries; high-voltage caps for televisions and oscilloscopes. Silicone sealing rings and silicone insulating sleeves for potentiometers. Cases for thyristors, sealing rings in contact with gas, insulating sleeves, switch protective covers, conductive rubber plates on the surface of electronic computers and telephones, keyboard switches, varistors, etc.

5. Industrial equipment: Coating machine silicone foam sealing strip (coating machine is a large industrial machinery, operating at a temperature of 200~250°C in a drying tunnel, thus requiring silicone sealing material that can withstand temperatures from -40 to 300°C), oven sealing (as the name suggests, it is a device that prevents hot air from flowing out of the oven, protecting the human body from high temperatures, and can also gather heat to make the oven work more smoothly), and other industries

6. Lighting Sealing: Panel light silicone sealing strip (a secondary processed product of extrusion bonding, mainly serving the purpose of waterproof and dustproof), wall washer silicone foam sealing strip (with strong waterproof pressure, sealing effect, and waterproof rating up to IP67 or above), as well as various lighting applications, such as floodlights, mining lights, etc.

7. Household appliances: refrigerator silicone sealing strips (the most common household appliance product, used on the side of the refrigerator door for sealing to prevent the air inside the refrigerator from mixing with the outside air), dishwasher silicone sealing strips (mainly used in washing machines), and other small household appliances such as those with waterproof, steam-proof, antibacterial, and multiple purposes inside the dishwasher.
